Couples Counselling

leaf

Developing supportive intimate relationships is one of the most important areas of our life. When couples struggle, we often feel frustrated and scared that our best efforts have failed to improve the situation. Our professional and caring psychologists at Rapha Health have the benefit of extensive training in research-based approaches to couples therapy that can help you to achieve your relationship goals. We have helped many couples to not just reduce conflict but more importantly, to build a sense of connection and understanding that can keep improving their relationship long after therapy has ended.

What will my treatment involve?

Gottman Method Couples Therapy is based on over 40 years of research by Dr John Gottman and focusses on the elements that make relationships succeed or fail. Therapy includes an assessment and treatment phase. In the assessment phase you will be given some questionnaires to complete that will help us better understand your relationship. We will talk about the history of your relationship, areas of concern, and goals for treatment. Assessment also includes an individual session to learn your personal histories and give you an opportunity to share your perceptions of the relationship. At the end of the assessment phase, your psychologist will share their recommendations for treatment and define mutually agreed-upon goals for therapy.

Other supports include:
Pre Marriage Preparation

PREPARE/ENRICH is the leading relationship assessment and skills-building program used nationally and internationally.
